EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

       The educational process is the main kind of the activity of the University. It comprises measures of permanent and temporary personnel units control. The chief of the educational branch is Col Litvinenko.

The University comprises 9 faculties with 35 departments. Nowadays the University performs education of 5000 people: cadets of tactical level; civil students, students who are completing the special training program for reserve officers; Ukraine’s armed Forces officers who are completing the special training program of re-training and qualification improvement; foreign military personnel.

The general area of laboratories is 100000 sq. meters. The classrooms are equipped with computers, simulators and real weapon samples. The department labs use modern plants, which allow to conduct research of different phenomena and processes.

According to the Bologna Charter requirements, the further ways of the University development are based on the integration into the European educational and science system.

SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL PROCESS

The Air Force University, Kharkiv, is a unique higher military educational and scientific institution, which formed science of world standard during many decades. 

It is spent thousand scientific researches and research-engineering works during University existence. The results of these are applied in state and branch-wise scientific and scientific-engineering programs, in creation and improvement of armament and its employment.

During decades many scientific schools were created in the University, a part from which has become world-famous. The scientific schools of strategy, radiolocation, rocket systems, aircraft designing and exploitation, optoelectronic devices, automatic control systems, metrology and energetic belong to them in the first place. The University scientists have world priority in discovery of signal identification and interference compensation effect, which is implemented in all well-known anti-aircraft and anti-space systems.

The military post-graduate work has been conducting in the University for more than 60 years, and doctoral candidacy – 45 years. During this period of time over 150 Doctors of Science, 2000 PHD have been prepared, 6 Doctors of science and 31 PHD were prepared in 2007-2008.

Scientific achievements of the University scientists are well-known in Ukraine and outside the country because of numerous scientific works. Scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers published 8 monographs and more than 60 research papers in scientific publishing houses of Russia, Byelorussia, USA, China, Grate Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Latvia. Annually University scientists publish more than 1000 scientific works in leading scientific publishing houses of Ukraine, edit dozens monographs and textbooks, take part in more than 50 international and Ukrainian scientific events.

The University is permanent organizer of scientific conferences on a wide range of actual scientific questions for scientists, students and cadets.

The 2 University’s scientific magazines and 3 scientific article anthologies are on the list of Ukrainian scientific specialized issues.

Kharkiv Air Force University has high potential of inventors and innovators, more than 10.000 inventor's certificates and patents.

Annually students and cadets of the University take part in the best scientific work competitions, scientific conferences, seminars and engineering exhibition. They become prize winners of these events and receive rewards.

THE EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE CENTRE

       The Educational and scientific language centre is a structural department within Kozhedub Air Force University. It was established in January 2008.
The Educational and scientific language centre deals with:

• methodical and scientific support of language training of the Air Force personnel;
• language testing of the Air Force personnel according to the NATO language standard STANAG-6001and with certification of the levels of language skills;
• implementation of up-to-day methodics and modern technologies of English teaching to system of language training of Air Force personnel;
• carrying out investigative works on developing of the new Conception of language training of the Air Force personnel and science-based propositions concerning the improving of the language-training system and language testing of the Air Force.

     Thus, the Educational and scientific language center’s activity is directed on mastering foreign languages by officers and implementation of the language-training methods into the system of the Air Force training as well as adapting it to European standards.
