The faculty was founded in October 1998. During its history it has educated 5394 civil students and 670 foreign students from 14 foreign states.
The main tasks of faculty are providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with officer reserve and training of foreign military personnel.

The faculty consists of the following departments:
- department of foreign languages;
- department of metrology and standardization;
- department of electro-technical systems of weapon complexes;
- course of foreign military personnel training;
- course of advanced training;
- course of training by correspondence.
The faculty has 2 honoured science workers, 9
PHDs. Since 1995 the faculty has educated military specialists from Arabic Republic of Egypt, Ecuador, Hungary, Moldova, Rwanda, Vietnam, China and
Georgia.
The faculty performs training of:
- non-commissioned contract officers by correspondence;
- students by correspondence (officers with education rank of junior
specialist)
- students of advanced training course;
- students of foreign languages course from the Ukrainian Armed Forces;
- students of foreign military specialists training course;
- cadets of Kharkiv Air Force University.
