The methods of validation developed in international and European documents and used in accredited test laboratories are discussed. General description of the different types of validation and metrological characteristics of the test methods that are investigated during the validation is presented. The use of validation methods in the laboratory and documentation of the results helps to ensure accuracy of the measurement results and significantly improve the technical competence of the laboratories. The conclusion was made on the need for harmonization of the international and European documents for validation of test methods in Ukraine or the need for development of Ukraine’s own national standards.
