Use of the through problem principles of the description field type acoustic wave in an acoustic waveguide was suggested. As a terminal device for underwater sound communication system is proposed a piezoceramic antenna of cylindrical or spherical type. To allow the use of “through problem" approach to the problems of this type, the study was conducted concerning the feasibility of using conventional approaches to solution of such eigenvalue problems with combined boundary conditions on the example of the Sturm-Liouville problem. The orthogonality of cylindrical functions has been proven and therefore the possibility of using " through problem" approach to solve the problems of sound field formation in shallow water wave channel.
