This paper for the first time presents air targets classes recognition method based on non-linear recursive analysis, which is a tool for detecting the degree of dependence of the observed processes. To solve the problem of recognition it is proposed to consider target range portrait as a linguistic feature, which can be formalized using the following chain: "target range portrait" structured recurrent chart values dependence of values measure of dependence (a measure of determinism). Application of such transformations to the analysis of target range portraits allows to recognize their class with high reliability.
