The article is devoted to practical application of multimedia in teaching of foreign languages. Examples of successful functional application visualization and remote administration programs are given. The possibility of creating a virtual language environment in a local computer network as well as the effectiveness of the «on-line» mode for the control of students’ knowledge and skills have been analyzed. Introduction of information technologies in the process of teaching foreign languages allows not only to increase the effectiveness of the training, but also to encourage students to further self-development.
