One of the important tasks arising from maintenance of multi-line segments is the ability to numerically simulate emergency situations. The objective of this paper is to describe the method of calculating nonstationary nonisothermal modes of gas flow in pipeline section.This method differs from existing methods in the way of solving systems of nonlinear equations obtained after the application of the method of characteristics to the original system of equations of mathematical model. The method allows to simulate real processes of natural gas flow more precisely in both standard and emergency situations.
