The article provides an analysis of failure kinds and its causes in the powerful turbo-generators that is operating on nuclear power plants. One of the important factors affecting the reliability is cooling of generator stator. The results of computational studies of the velocity distribution of water movement in the stator winding cooling elements of the turbogenerator ТВВ-1000-2У3 have shown. The experimental data and further calculations allows to determine the cooling rods with deposits, which is reducing water consumption, that in turn can affect to the reliability of the generator.
