The statistical approach to finding out the terms of over-refraction distribution of radio waves is offered. Probabilistic characteristics of finding out troposphere waveguides (TWG) are found. The graphs which illustrate dependence of probability of false alarm and correct discovery of TWG from determination exactness of vertical gradient of troposphere index refraction are resulted. The sources of measuring errors of troposphere index refraction are shown and their influence on authenticity of conclusions about presence or absence of troposphere waveguide was investigated.
