Modern and perspective methods are considered of air target destruction by surface-to-air missile. Vulnerable points at different type airplanes are analysed and method formulated of guiding the surface-to-air missiles into those points. The variant has been proposed for calculating the mass of the missile warhead charge depending on thetarget miss achieved. Based on the target miss values, effectiveness of the illumination signal widening is evaluated for the surface-to-air missile guidance radar.
