Description: In the scientific article the basic approach to a universal thermal model traction engines of vehicles. It is indicated that this model allows to determine the temperature field in the traction engine at its various modes, including those identified traction calculations. Noticeable is a significant lack of model complexity that makes it difficult to use in circuits of automatic temperature control windings of traction motors. In addition, the model does not take into account the environmental temperature, humidity and barometric pressure.
