The technique of automating the process of the liver density determining by ultrasound imaging is submitted. The measure of the test authority acoustic impedance degree in accordance with the expected value of the liver and kidneys intensity distribution color histograms are defined. About a hundred ultrasound images (sonograms) were analyzed. Threshold values were obtained for normal, abnormal and border states, which were confirmed by medical experts and the results of laboratory research methods. The individual equipment settings for image quality affect the color characteristics. Decision rules to automate the process of making diagnostic decisions are proposed.
