In the article diffraction is examined as one of mechanisms of radio-wave propagation above a sea. In theory methodology of estimation of distance of finding out targets is generalized as it applies to concrete radar station meter, decimeter and centimeter range of radio waves taking into account the specific of troposphere above a sea surface. Within the framework of the worked out methodology the estimations of maximal distances of finding out small height targets are conducted above a sea for an existent park radar station taking into account the diffraction mechanism of distribution of radio waves.
