The article discusses the scientific analysis of existing methods for determining the optimal energy modes of motion of the electric rolling stock. It is noted that the known approaches to solving the problem of determining the minimum-energy path of the vehicle can be divided into two groups, and the numerical analysis. The most promising method to find optimal energy modes of movement of electric rolling stock is a numerical method based on the most important tasks while optimizing the trajectories: the search for acceptable control modes that meet all the conditions and restrictions.
