The method for improving two-dimensional radar images based on the Gabor and Wigner-Ville time-frequency transforms has been developed. The increased resolution capability of Wigner-Ville transform improves details of the twodimensional radar image, its combination with the Gabor transform provides removal of spurious combination elements associated with non-linear nature of the quadratic transform. Examples are given regarding analysis of the two-dimensional radar image improvement level based on experimental radar returns records of Cessna-172 aircraft.
