The analysis of helicopter rotor theories with the purpose of their usage in the tasks of determination of tail rotor efficiency index is conducted. A mathematical model which allows to investigate the helicopter tail rotor efficiency loss phenomenon in the conditions of cross wind blowing with different direction and speed on the helicopter hovering mode is developed.
