The technique and tool for the rational selection of FPGA chip based on requirements to the specific projects are proposed. The technical characteristics of FPGA package is the object of research. Architectural features of FPGA packages, their classification by type of configuration data storage and methods of FPGA power consumption lowering are analyzed. The technique of FPGA chip selection based on the requirements of the project is developed. The decision support software tool based on this technique is developed.
