The probability of detection criterion usually represents quantitative estimation of the detection efficiency in the electrooptical systems. However, this criterion is rigidly connected to the decision rule and characterizes the overall quality of the detector. The entered index of optimal signal processing matching – normalized Kullback-Leibler divergence has been compared with the index probability of detection. It is believed that when a new criterion appears its quality measure should be considered in relation to the probabilistic criteria. So this article is dedicated to the above mentioned issue.
