The article deals with approaches to logic synthesis multistage relay protection devices, analyzes several known methods to define algorithms for discrete devices. Concluded that the most appropriate language formalization of multistage devices is the language of logic algorithms. Is proposed for the formalization of the description of discrete devices, relay protection using the concepts of addition operators and logical conditions the concept of the symbol of choice.
