The article deals with the problem of creation of metrological support of measurement methods, based on obtaining and processing of measurement results that have visual character. The analysis of measurement uncertainty sources that arise during the registration and conversion of gas-discharge emission images is submitted. The metallic cylinder is proposed use as a test object for experimental estimation uncertainty type A. Hypothesis about the uniformity and equality of variances in groups of experimental observations is tested in processing the results of multiple measurements using the test object. The uncertainty type A is calculated for combined into one group of the evaluation results of the inner diameter of cylinder.
