A mathematical model to estimate the maximum potential value of the exciting hinge moments of aerodynamic control surfaces, which can be used for a preliminary assessment of the characteristics of transonic flutter like supersonic and hypersonic aircraft. The reliability of the model is confirmed by comparing the theoretical results with the results of a laboratory experiment.
