The paper deals with the diagnosis of DC motors switch point using harmonic analysis of current curve during the operation. The current spectral composition of the DC motor with series excitation was evaluated experimentally and theoretically. The mathematical model of maintenance switch point motors are developed and based on the theory of Markov processes. Application of the proposed operational diagnostic techniques of switch points’ DC motors will allow to improve their reliability and, consequently, and traffic safety on the railways.
