POTENTIAL CAPABILITYS OF RADIOTECHNICAL TROOPS RADARS TO DETECT OPERATIONAL-TACTICAL AND TACTICAL UNMANNED AIR VEHICLE

The main problem in radar detection of operational-tactical and tactical UAVs is their small radar visibility. Therefore, to detect such aircrafts, radars with a high energy potential are needed. Such potential have radars of radiotechnical troops, but the methods of using it when detecting manned aircraft at distances of hundreds kilometers and UAVs at distances of 10...20 km are fundamentally different. This significantly limits the possibilities of radiotechnical troops radars using to solve such uncharacteristic tasks as detecting UAVs. The capabilities of basic types of radiotechnical troops surveillance radars and radar altimeters to detect of operationaltactical and tactical UAV are explored. It has been proved that detection of operational-tactical UAVs is possible for all radars of the radiotechnical troops within their performance characteristics to detect air targets such as a cruise missile. Detection of mini-UAVs is only possible for radar altimeters such as ПРВ-13 and ПРВ-17 outside the zone of influence reflections from local objects.
