The purpose of this article is to show on practical examples the designing of digital direct synthesizers (DDS) as on discrete elements as on integrated microcircuits. In accordance with the requirements to the parameters of the generated signal, calculations of the levels of the secondary components and the power spectral density (PSD) of the phase noise of the designed synthesizers when generating signals with different time-frequency parameters are displayed. Based on the analysis of the calculated data, practical recommendations on the choice of DDS integrated circuits for the generation of such signals are given.
