This article provides general approaches that can be used to model information processes in an automated missile defense and artillery control system. The basis of the functioning of any automated control system are the processes of transmission and processing of information, known as the information process. In the process of developing the requirements for an automated control system, there is a need for a study of the functioning of hardware and software that requires the use of appropriate models. The article analyzes the main types of models that can be used in the study of information processes. This allowed to achievethe goal of determining the mathematical dependencies for the study of information processes that take place in the control system of rocket troops and artillery. Based on these dependencies, the main characteristics of this control system are determined. The results of the research have shown that at the stage of creating the basic version of requirements and the basic structure of the automated control system of missile forces and artillery, mathematical models, each of which represent a system of mass service and characterized by the input flow of applications, the mechanism and discipline of their service, are the most optimal. The obtained results can be used during the development of requirements for the hardware-software of the automated control system and evaluation of their effectiveness.
