Description: Since Ukraine became independent, significant changes occurred with its educational institutions: the number of higher educational establishments has highly increased, another situation happened with pre-school and secondary education institutions – their number has rapidly decreased, building are in an abandoned state or are used for other purposes. Special attention requires the system of pre-school and general education institutions in small cities of regional and district subordination, which are located in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and have the status of front-line territories. It should be noted that huge amount of immigrants came to such cities as Severodonetsk from temporarily occupied territories, this fact led to an increase of number of residents in the city, and therefore increased the burden on social infrastructure objects, including polyclinics, hospitals, preschool and general educational institutions. In addition, the city of Severodonetsk has its own peculiarities in terms of development, for example, during the years of Ukraine's independence, several new residential neighborhoods have been built, in which there are no pre-school and general educational institutions. The research of the state of system of preschool and general education institutions of Severodonetsk was conducted using geoinformation analysis, which consists of analyzing of the transport accessibility of these spatial objects, as well as a variant for improving of this spatial network was proposed.
