Description: In this article, the peculiarities of using the aviation component of the Armed Forces in conditions of modern armed confrontation are considered. Taking into account these factors, the development of modern military aircraft is characterized by the development of new and modernization of existing weapons control systems for aircrafts. In order to meet the requirements of on-board radar, phase antenna arrays are used with electronic scanning of space. There are considered features of using the aviation component of Armed Forces in a modern armed confrontation in this article. The main directions of the use of airborne radar stations in the conduct of hostilities are determined. The basic requirements for modern aviation radars are formulated. The advantages of using on-board radars with phased array antennas are given. The principles of functioning of passive and active phased antenna arrays are considered. There are analyzed modern on-board radars with phased array antennas, which are installed on serial combat aircraft. From the analysis of existing models of the radar, we can conclude that among the modern radars the best indicators are the radar with active phased arrays. US AN / APG-77, which are serially installed on the F-22 Raptor aircraft.
