Description: The article considers the state of development of power electronic warfare systems. The main mechanism for the destruction of various types the elemental base of radio-electronic means is influence the energy of powerful electromagnetic radiation and the value. Based on the analysis of the state of electromagnetic weapons existing developments, a general scheme for its classification has been formulated and the dynamics of the development of such weapons have been revealed. Various modern sources of powerful microwave radiation of directed action for power electronic combat systems are considered. The dynamics of the development of these systems abroad in recent years is considered. The analysis of improvement of their constructive, dimension and radiating features, as well as methods for controlling the radiation parameters, is carried out. The method of combat employment of power electronic combat systems is analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of various sources of powerful microwave radiation of directional action for the destruction of radioelectronic facilities are shown. The research directions of the mechanisms of destruction of weapons and military equipment by a powerful electromagnetic pulse with an energy level that is lower than necessary for the destruction of radioelements are considered.The most priority directions of researches in the field of development of powerful electromagnetic radiators for the nearest years are shown.
