Description: The article states that one of the most popular areas of the development of virtual reality is education, which, using virtual and complementary technologies, students of secondary and higher educational institutions will be able to interact with subjects in the virtual space or to participate in important historical events. The paper analyzes the current state of virtual reality as a new level of development of information technologies and its impact on all spheres of society. revealed the main directions of the influence of virtual reality on the methodology of higher education, which can lead to the expansion of types of educational activities, improvement of existing and the emergence of new organizational forms, types and methods of teaching, in-depth interaction between students and educational space. When designing and implementing elements of religious reality in multimedia educational complexes, it is necessary to take into account the facilities of every educational institution, the professional level of the developers and the time devoted to the implementation of virtual reality in the on-learning process. At the present stage, the virtual reality elements in the multimedia educational complexes can be realized most easily in the form of simulations of professional environment models or structural and organizational schemes. The basis of the simulations are technological scenarios, which in turn are based on pedagogical scenarios. An example of using the simulation as an element of virtual reality in education is given.
