Description: The purpose of the study was to identify and study the mechanisms to improve the land fund of Velykoburlutsky district at Kharkiv region. The subject of the study in the article was the introduction of ecological and landscape land management within a certain territory. The study was based on ecological and landscape and to some extent on agro-ecological approaches. Ecological and landscape zoning was conducted on the territory of Khotnyanskiy village council. To do so, topographic maps of different scales were analyzed, as well as a series of thematic maps and statistics data. The corresponding electronic maps and schematic maps were created. The complex of works was conducted, including: an assessment of the terrain with allocation of absolute and relative heights, degree of a dismemberment of a relief; the condition analysis of an arroyo network; the analysis of soils distribution; the analysis of climate features. Based on the collected materials and taking into account the influence of nature factors, physiographic parts of landscape were outlined, such as areas and tracts. Homogeneous areas in the landscape plan were formed, to which the economy system, agriculture, and environment protection events were linked. Materials of ecological and landscape zoning were expanded by production classification of lands, which allowed to make more accurate study taking into account specifications of the terrain, deep subsoil and undersoil, humidity level. The most appropriate and necessary measures to improve the land fund of the study area were selected and proposed. These measures include optimization of land use with help of ecologically balanced and economically viable balance between different types of land and agricultural areas. To preserve nature plant formation, it was sugggested to create eco-systems which will work on principles of natural analogues at minimized man-induced influence. To preserve ecological safety on regional level, it was suggested to build the program of land use and protection. There was a complex of environment-oriented measures suggested, that were based on agroecological micro-zoning by soils validity, homogenous territories and areas.
