Description: The article discusses the system-conceptual aspects of designing a life-cycle management system (LCMS) for a promising medium-range air defense system (ADS MR). The “classical” model of life cycle management of a sample of armament and mili-tary equipment (AME) is considered. The scheme of life cycle management of AME is given. The analysis of the life cycle man-agement logical scheme, goals, object and subject of management carried out. The main limitations of the use of the classical life cycle management model of AME are considered. Proposed new approaches to the design of a life-cycle management system for air defense systems. A design method LCMS ADS MR and an evolutionary V-model of the life cycle ADS MR are proposed, dif-fering from the known ones due to the interdependence between the target system - the designed air defense system, the support-ing system and systems in the operational environment. The article focuses on the need to integrate a life-cycle management system medium-range air defense system with international standards of system engineering. The design method of the life-cycle management system ADS MR includes determining the type and architecture of the designed system, the choice of a temporary design scheme, constructing a model of the life cycle of an ADS MR in the form of a Gant chart, solving data integration issues, linking processes to the stages of the life cycle. To avoid inconsistencies over time within the life cycle stages of the ADS carried out milestones and anchor points. One of the main issues in designing the life-cycle management system is the creation of a sys-tem of collaborative design of medium-range air defense system. In developing the design method for the life-cycle management system of the air defense system, modern terminology and concepts adopted in the guidelines of the US defense acquisition sys-tem and The Department of Defense Architecture Framework, NATO Architecture Framework.
