Description: It has been established that the main direction of development of aircraft in the transport category is the creation of modifications based on their basic models that have successfully passed the operational phase. The paper presents a methodology for the formation of the main parameters of modifications of military transport aircraft (MTА) with profound changes in the wing and power plant. The content of the methodology is based on the use of three principles: ensuring the growth of carrying capacity and the required range of modifications of military-technical cooperation for various purposes; geometric re-arrangement of the wings of the existing base models in order to increase the aerodynamic quality and range of the military-technical cooperation; coordination of modification changes in the wing with the required parameters of the power plant as a condition for ensuring the required fuel efficiency. New methods forming the structure of the methodology are: introduction of a new concept - the coefficient of ellipticity of the trapezoidal wing and the method for its determination; a method of geometric rearrangement of an isolated trapezoidal wing based on its ellipticity coefficient; a method for refining the layout of the system of bearing surfaces “wing + tail units” taking into account the geometric rearrangement of the trapezoidal wing. As a criterion base, the structure of the methodology includes models: minimize the inductive resistance of the wing and the entire system of bearing surfaces; coordination of modification changes in the wing and power plant: with the required increase in carrying capacity; with the parameters of the geometric rearrangement of the wing and the entire system of bearing surfaces; with an indicator of fuel efficiency. The development of the above methods, models and criteria base forms the scientific basis of the methodology, the implementation of which was carried out during the creation of the domestic military-technical cooperation An-132D, An-178 and An-188.
