The paper presents an assessment of the expected mass-dimensional characteristics of light drones method of determining the required thrust and fuel consumption of the engine depending on the weight of the unmanned aerial vehicle , a predetermined height and speed cruise flight. The obtained results allow to pre-set design parameters for the development of the jet engine or choose one of the engines created for the planned UAV.
