At present, the methods of wideband radar and inverse aperture synthesis are intensively developed. In this paper, the possibilities of increasing sharply information capabilities of radar using long wideband illumination signals are analyzed. The possibility is studied of applying the increased information volume to the task of surface-to-air missile guidence. Based on the analysis, the main trends in R&D of guided missiles are given.
