Uncertainty of results of analytical measurements – a brief overview of characteristics and advances

D.L. Tsalev
Annotations languages:

Some characteristic features of measurements in the field of analytical chemistry (‘analytical measurements’) are considered with a view to quality of obtained (chemical) information. Numerous input parameters contributing to the combined uncertainty of analytical results at different analytical steps are pointed out, including effects of pre-laboratory stages of the total analytical process – study design, sampling, sample preservation and preparation, data treatment, and interpretation of results.
Keywords: metrology, uncertainty, traceability, analytical chemistry, chemical measurements
