Possibilities of application of the managed shunting reactors are examined in the electric systems. Dependences of tension are explored at the beginning of long line wave length of line and degree of indemnification reactive power of the unloaded line. Influence of degree of indemnification reactive power is shown on amplitude of the forced constituent of overstrains of commutations. Adjusting of charge power is provided by possibility of more effective use of nonlinear limitations, reducing the transitional constituent of internal overstrains. Application of the guided shunting reactors allows to promote the carrying capacity of lines of electricity transmission.
