In the article the stage of research and development projects is analysed from the life cycle of aviation engine. The analysis of intercommunication of technical and economic descriptions of project of engine is conducted at forming of his self-reactance look on the preliminary stages of planning. It is rotined that the improvement of quality of aviation engines is related to the increase of their cost and terms of creation. In this connection actuality of development of single index of estimation of cost of creation of aviation engine is grounded on the preliminary stages of planning. The basic requirements are formed to quality of indexes and criteria as it applies to the estimation of technical and economic descriptions of aviation power-plant.
