The probability density distributions of rain drop sizes, which are widely used in calculating of rain attenuation statistics for microwave radar and communication systems, are analyzed. It is shown that the majority of these distributions sufficiently poor describe the real quantity of the rain small droplets. The new more adequate function is proposed, which may be used in more higher frequency ranges (above 100 GHz), nowadays named as terahertz one.
