The practical aspects of using the Terra (ASTER) and Landsat (TM, ETM+) multisensor survey data for solving the tasks of monitoring of mining regions, in particular, for mapping the fire-hazardous waste banks locations of the Donetsk coal basin area are presented. Construction of the fuzzy logical inference system for Donbass fire-hazardous waste banks classification using the values of surface temperature obtained from the Landsat thermal channel and information about the state of vegetation on the basis of spectral indices evaluation is performed.
