Questions of forming the structure of CNC system on the basis of the functional-structural approach proposed in the works of E.P. Balashov are considered. As a result of the target function of system decomposition the functions tree is formed. The functions of 1st the level defines the basic parameters of the CNC system, such as performance, reliability, functionality and provide a top-priority influence on the structure of the system. Additional functions of the 2nd and 3th levels enhance the functionality of the CNC system, affect productivity and quality of work of the system as a whole, and on the productivity and quality of work of the operator. The results of the synthesis of the structure of CNC system on the basis of the suggested functions tree are produced.
