In this work, we analyze the main features of the formation program of diversification, taking into account the competence of the organization and its employees. We propose a method of selecting the direction of companies diversification based on concept of key competencies. We describe the models for identify and analyze key competences based on an assessment of the strategic potential in diversification. We propose the methods which evaluate the participation of key competencies in the production to calculate the synergetic effect for diversification.
