Developed method represents the estimation of extended objects’ location on the CCD frame. Method is based on the theory of grouped samples. The sum of the finite number of two-dimensional Gaussians is accepted as the distribution of the photons falling of an object with an extended image. The Gaussians mathematical expectations are located along the path of the object’s apparent motion. The method can be used in programs for automated asteroids detection. For example, to estimate the location of fast moving asteroids, such as Near-Earth asteroids.
